About
Conception of Nike poster designs and custom all-over patterns, developed to celebrate Asian visual heritage through the lens of modern football culture.
Concept & Experience
Conceived to merge the raw energy of contemporary football with traditional East Asian art, the visual direction reinterprets the codes of Japanese aesthetics and manga culture.
By interweaving calligraphic brushwork, stylized clouds, and dragons, the vector artwork creates a rich, narrative visual texture. Consequently, the core of the project relies on an engineered seamless pattern system tailored for multi-medium rollouts. Whether scaled down for a full football kit or expanded across large-scale urban billboards, each motif retains its formal tension and legibility. In addition, three saturated colorways complete the collection, delivering immediate optical impact across Nike retail environments and outdoor campaigns.
Creative Process
Balancing intricate illustrated details with the impact of bold vector shapes drove the initial design process. Specifically, the technical challenge required developing a seamless modular repeat that adapts fluidly to the ergonomic cuts of performance apparel.
In addition, the Yamamoto typeface anchors the visual identity through sharp letterforms recalling kanji brush terminals and dynamic manga typography. Combined with the iconic « JUST DO IT » slogan and the Nike swoosh, it locks the collection into a sharp, global sportswear aesthetic.
